What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 (or COVID-19) stands for

  • CO- Corona
  • VI- Virus
  • D- Disease
  • 19- 2019, because it was discovered in 2019. 


Corona is Latin for crown or wreath. It's because it seems to have a crown or a wreath around it under a microscope.

Its really a ball with mushroom looking things under a stronger microscope.

The Coronavirus is a disease that can spread easily. People do not know that they have it until signs start showing. This can take two to fourteen days for the signs to show. It seems to infect the lungs and can spread to the rest of the body.
